Robert Popovic qualified in Medicine from the University of Melbourne in 1988 and studied at St Vincent's Hospital, Melbourne, in his undergraduate and postgraduate years. He worked at the prestigious University of California in San Francisco as a full-time neuroanaesthetist from 1997 to 1999. Robert gives about half of the anaesthetics. There are many other highly qualified anaesthetists who work with Emil Popovic on a less regular basis. |

Financial information for patients
Dr Emil Popovic is a "No Gap" service provider for most health funds, meaning that inpatient care and surgery will not incur any extra costs to privately insured patients. For these funds this means that privately insured hospital inpatients do not pay Dr Popovic anything out-of-pocket. However, there are usually extra out-of-pocket charges which need to be paid separately for inpatient hospital, x-ray, physiotherapy and pharmacy services.
Car parking

If at all possible you are encouraged not to park at the Mount Hospital because parking spaces are at a premium. If you do choose to park at the hospital, please park 15-30 minutes earlier than the appointment time.
The carpark is located at the front of the adjoining Mount Hospital (circled in picture to right). When approaching by car on Mounts Bay Rd (from the river and towards the city), you should slow and watch out for the carpark entrance on your left as you drive parallel to the hospital. It can be inconvenient circling back if you miss the carpark entrance and drive past the hospital.

There are car parking attendants at the Mount Hospital who will assist you with parking. Parking at the hospital is $1/hour.
Buses
|
The blue CAT bus visits the Mount Hospital every five minutes during business hours and is FREE. It also stops at the main Perth bus depot and at the Horseshoe Bridge in William St, very close to the main Perth train station.

There are several hotels in Mounts Bay Rd:
Sullivan's Hotel - 166 Mounts Bay Rd, Perth 6000 (9321 8022). Sullivan's is next door to the Mount Hospital. Mounts Bay Waters Apartment Hotel - 112 Mounts Bay Rd, Perth 6000 (9213 5333 or 1800 241 343). Waldorf Hotel - 126 Mounts Bay Rd, Perth 6000 (9213 5333).
